HSC 155: Introduction to Electronic Health Records

This course introduces students to the purpose, history, and methods of documentation and recordkeeping in the health care industry. Data analytics, continuum of care, HIPAA, and the HITECH Act are also integrated throughout the course. Students will learn the financial implications and incentives the government offers to facilities and private practices for complying with electronic charting, prescribing, testing, and treatment.

Notes
Health Science students must earn a "C" or higher in all HSC courses in order to graduate from their respective programs.
