This course will engage the learners in the inner workings in the hospitality industry. An overview of the segments, principles, and industry trends in the hospitality industry including lodging, restaurants, food and beverage, tourism, recreation, attractions, clubs and gaming will allow learners to explore career paths and opportunities in the industry. The course will explore the different characteristics in the industry associated with meetings, conventions, expositions, and special events.  Strategic management methods including planning, decision making, and communication will also be explored. This course will engage learners in exploring and evaluating the potential impact of current events, trends, and issues in this dynamic industry.
