The College’s default academic pathway is for students to declare and pursue a single degree program at a time that aligns with their transfer and/or career goals. Declaring more than one degree may negatively impact a student’s financial aid eligibility, potentially exhausting aid on coursework that does not contribute directly to their primary educational objectives. However, students may pursue an additional certificate, diploma, or microcredential concurrently with the declared associate degree.
Students who believe that pursuing two degrees or majors concurrently is essential to their academic or professional goals are encouraged to consult with an academic advisor and with the Financial Aid Office to fully understand the implications. Students interested in pursuing multiple degrees or majors concurrently may submit a written request to the Registrar’s Office. The Registrar will then confer with the Chief Academic Officer to review and consider the request. The Registrar will respond to all requests in writing within 10 business days of the written request and will communicate the outcome to the student.
A second associate degree, diploma, or certificate is awarded only when all the program requirements for the second credential associate have been met.
