Program Description
The Social Media and Broadcasting Certificate is designed for individuals who want hands-on skills in social media management, production and distribution, and introductory on-air broadcasting and audio recording. Seven Mountains Media is the largest radio broadcast group in central Pennsylvania. The 27-credit certificate includes two three-credit “apprenticeships” with Seven Mountains Media / Pop 104 radio, one in the first semester and one in the second, plus additional MPR, COM and other courses at Penn Highlands. Like the MPR program, most classes will be held in person at the Richland Campus, but some may be available online as part of the college’s standard schedule. The internships are held exclusively at the Seven Mountains Media studios in Lower Yoder Township, suburban Johnstown. The certificate also feeds seamlessly into the existing A.A.S. Media Production program.
